Most yoga teachers do not use the techniques of “contra-lateral movements” in their classes. But yoga therapists do, primarily because yoga therapy helps people relieve some symptoms or health conditions, not just instruct the positions or postures of yoga. In most cases, the strategies of yoga therapy are designed to improve the quality of physical functioning along with increased concentration.
Try this series of postures from my YogaAway videos that will leave you feeling calm as well as focused. These postures relax the back with a specific series of cross crawl actions that challenge your attention by synchronizing your breath with the movements of your body.
Benefits: focusing, clarifying, attention-building, and improved memory
