Savasana Pranayama - 3-minute Yoga Breathing for Sleep

Yoga Breathing While Lying Down

Are you having trouble falling asleep at night? Stress can make it increasingly difficult to relax before bed. Yogic breathing can help. Try this simple 3-minute breathing practice to settle your mind and prepare you for sleep.

This yogic breathing pose, or diaphragmatic breathing, starts by lying on your back, with your arms at your sides, feet comfortably apart, and your eyes closed. This technique involves deep breaths and controlled holds. The breathing pattern lengths your inhale by one second, and your exhale by two seconds. Focus on your breath and feel your body relax.
